Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures, which included the work The ford by James Lawton Wingate. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 510.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Lawton Wingate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Villa Limonaia From Villa Ombrellino, Bellosguardo, Near Florence in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,889.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The ford von James Lawton Wingate zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 352,50 (€ 510,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Lawton Wingate erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Villa Limonaia From Villa Ombrellino, Bellosguardo, Near Florence im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.889,77).
