Sold at the lower estimate price
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Highland Cattle Studies by James Lawton Wingate. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 875.80) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Lawton Wingate achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Villa Limonaia From Villa Ombrellino, Bellosguardo, Near Florence in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,889.77).
