Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Harvesting potatoes by James Lawton Wingate. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,654.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Lawton Wingate have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Villa Limonaia From Villa Ombrellino, Bellosguardo, Near Florence in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,889.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Harvesting potatoes von James Lawton Wingate zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.654,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Lawton Wingate auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Villa Limonaia From Villa Ombrellino, Bellosguardo, Near Florence im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.889,77).
