Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Cattle watering by James Lawton Wingate. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,095.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Lawton Wingate - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Villa Limonaia From Villa Ombrellino, Bellosguardo, Near Florence, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,889.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cattle watering von James Lawton Wingate zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.151,00 (€ 3.095,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von James Lawton Wingate mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Villa Limonaia From Villa Ombrellino, Bellosguardo, Near Florence beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.889,77) versteigert wurde.
