Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Jane by Gerald Kelly was sold in the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2011. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,592.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerald Kelly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 104,935.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Jane von Gerald Kelly wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.592,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerald Kelly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W.
