Auction result well in line with expectations
The work General Henry Vane, 2 Nd Duke Of Cleveland (1788-1864) by Francis Grant was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 965.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Grant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Daisy Grant, The Artist'S Daughter, Full Length, Wearing A Black Dress, Red Petticoat, Black Shawl, Hat And Boots, And Grey Gloves In A Winter Landscape in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 174,250.00 (€ 289,463.92).

Die Arbeit General Henry Vane, 2 Nd Duke Of Cleveland (1788-1864) von Francis Grant kam im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 965,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
