Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Hon. Mrs. J. Wortley by Francis Grant was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 84,872.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Grant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Daisy Grant, The Artist'S Daughter, Full Length, Wearing A Black Dress, Red Petticoat, Black Shawl, Hat And Boots, And Grey Gloves In A Winter Landscape, which sold at auction in June 2001 for GBP 174,250.00 (€ 289,463.92).

Die Arbeit The Hon. Mrs. J. Wortley von Francis Grant kam im Dezember 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 84.872,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
