Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The rounded English pig and the scrawny French pig by Edwin Henry Landseer was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,536.00 (€ 1,536.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Henry Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,271,650.00 (€ 1,856,568.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The rounded English pig and the scrawny French pig von Edwin Henry Landseer kam im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.536,00 (€ 1.536,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Henry Landseer erzielen.
