Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship, which included the work Portrait of Catherine Seyton by Edwin Henry Landseer. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,716.32). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Henry Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,271,650.00 (€ 1,856,568.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Catherine Seyton von Edwin Henry Landseer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.716,32) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Henry Landseer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.271.650,00 (€ 1.856.568,89).
