Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Edwin Henry Landseer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the British and European Art auction, the work Study for 'Alpine mastiffs reanimating a distressed traveller' sold for GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,387.17) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Henry Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,271,650.00 (€ 1,856,568.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edwin Henry Landseer erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit Study for 'Alpine mastiffs reanimating a distressed traveller' für GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.387,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Henry Landseer erzielen.
