Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Andromeda by Edward John Poynter was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,541.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward John Poynter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Orpheus and Eurydice, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 437,500.00 (€ 488,726.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Andromeda von Edward John Poynter kam im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 200.000,00 (€ 234.541,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward John Poynter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Orpheus and Eurydice beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für GBP 437.500,00 (€ 488.726,49) versteigert wurde.
