Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Two studies for 'A Corner of the Villa' each 17 x 24cm (6 11/16 x 9 7/16in) by Edward John Poynter was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,200.00 (€ 3,708.10). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward John Poynter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orpheus and Eurydice in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 437,500.00 (€ 488,726.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Two studies for 'A Corner of the Villa' each 17 x 24cm (6 11/16 x 9 7/16in) von Edward John Poynter kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.200,00 (€ 3.708,10) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward John Poynter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orpheus and Eurydice im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 437.500,00 (€ 488.726,49).
