Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Sirlynmouth Harbour, Devon by Edward John Poynter was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,177.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward John Poynter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orpheus and Eurydice in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 437,500.00 (€ 488,726.49).

Die Arbeit Sirlynmouth Harbour, Devon von Edward John Poynter kam im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.177,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden.
