Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sirbeware, Trust Her Not, She Is Fooling Thee by Edward John Poynter was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,067.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward John Poynter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orpheus and Eurydice in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 437,500.00 (€ 488,726.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sirbeware, Trust Her Not, She Is Fooling Thee von Edward John Poynter kam im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.067,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
