Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Elegant figures dancing at Niton, Isle of Wight by David Wilkie. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,776.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Wilkie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spanish Girl in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 363,650.00 (€ 522,024.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Elegant figures dancing at Niton, Isle of Wight von David Wilkie zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 2.776,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Wilkie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spanish Girl im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 363.650,00 (€ 522.024,96).
