Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work Open Secret by Anthony Caro. The price achieved of USD 12,700.00 (€ 11,642.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Caro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flats in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 588,500.00 (€ 556,343.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Open Secret von Anthony Caro zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.700,00 (€ 11.642,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Caro erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flats im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 588.500,00 (€ 556.343,35).
