Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in Paris held the auction NOW!, which included the work Aquarelle by Simon Hantaï. The price achieved of EUR 35,280.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon Hantaï achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work M.A.4 (Mariale) in December 2016 with an auction result of EUR 4,432,500.00.
