Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Illustration of a Pet by Simon Evans was auctioned at Phillips in London in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,063.00 (€ 1,146.29). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon Evans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vocabulary in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 66,000.00 (€ 49,059.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Illustration of a Pet von Simon Evans im März 2009 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.063,00 (€ 1.146,29) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simon Evans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vocabulary im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.000,00 (€ 49.059,69).
