Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art, which included the work Within the sacramental veils by Simeon Solomon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 12,037.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simeon Solomon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Habet! In The Coliseum A.D.Xc in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 370,000.00 (€ 414,851.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Within the sacramental veils von Simeon Solomon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 12.037,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simeon Solomon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Habet! In The Coliseum A.D.Xc im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 370.000,00 (€ 414.851,36).
