Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work Paolo e Francesca da Rimini by Simeon Solomon for GBP 6,930.00 (€ 8,275.65). This price was achieved in the auction The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simeon Solomon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Habet! In The Coliseum A.D.Xc in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 370,000.00 (€ 414,851.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Paolo e Francesca da Rimini von Simeon Solomon für GBP 6.930,00 (€ 8.275,65) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simeon Solomon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Habet! In The Coliseum A.D.Xc im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 370.000,00 (€ 414.851,36).
