Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Picking berries by Sierk Schröder was sold in the Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 625.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sierk Schröder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A lady in a blue kimono in November 2003 with an auction result of EUR 8,962.50.

Die Arbeit Picking berries von Sierk Schröder wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 625,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sierk Schröder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A lady in a blue kimono im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.962,50.
