Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Randy Doorman by Sierk Schröder was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,125.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sierk Schröder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A lady in a blue kimono, which sold at auction in November 2003 for EUR 8,962.50.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Randy Doorman von Sierk Schröder kam im Februar 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 3.125,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sierk Schröder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A lady in a blue kimono beobachtet, die im November 2003 für EUR 8.962,50 versteigert wurde.
