Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Zonsondergang: a rural landscape at sunset by Sientje Mesdag van Houten was sold in the Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2008. It changed hands for a price of EUR 3,250.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sientje Mesdag van Houten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blauwe Vaas, which sold at auction in April 2006 for EUR 9,600.00.

Die Arbeit Zonsondergang: a rural landscape at sunset von Sientje Mesdag van Houten wurde im Februar 2008 in der Auktion Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 3.250,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sientje Mesdag van Houten mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blauwe Vaas beobachtet, die im April 2006 für EUR 9.600,00 versteigert wurde.
