Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still life with a mortar and a pineapple by Sientje Mesdag van Houten was sold in the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2005. The price achieved of EUR 1,440.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,200.00 – 1,600.00. Admittedly, works by Sientje Mesdag van Houten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blauwe Vaas in April 2006 with an auction result of EUR 9,600.00.

Die Arbeit Still life with a mortar and a pineapple von Sientje Mesdag van Houten wurde im Januar 2005 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.440,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.200,00 – 1.600,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sientje Mesdag van Houten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blauwe Vaas im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.600,00.
