Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A still life with a jar by Sientje Mesdag van Houten was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2001. The price achieved of NLG 9,400.00 (€ 4,113.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sientje Mesdag van Houten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blauwe Vaas, which sold at auction in April 2006 for EUR 9,600.00.

Die Arbeit A still life with a jar von Sientje Mesdag van Houten kam im Januar 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 9.400,00 (€ 4.113,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sientje Mesdag van Houten mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blauwe Vaas beobachtet, die im April 2006 für EUR 9.600,00 versteigert wurde.
