This artwork by Shozo Shimamoto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2018. In the Horizon | Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,779.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shozo Shimamoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Explosion 64-1 in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 20,500,000.00 (€ 2,419,733.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shozo Shimamoto erzielte im August 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Horizon | Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.779,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shozo Shimamoto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Explosion 64-1 im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 20.500.000,00 (€ 2.419.733,82).
