Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Dunes, 1986 by Shōji Ueda for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,361.12). This price was achieved in the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shōji Ueda - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self-Portrait With Cat ('Me And Cat'), which sold at auction in April 2011 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,747.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Dunes, 1986 von Shōji Ueda für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.361,12) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shōji Ueda mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self-Portrait With Cat ('Me And Cat') beobachtet, die im April 2011 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.747,18) versteigert wurde.
