Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Shōji Ueda could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in May 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographies auction, the work Fukei, 1968Silver Print. Signed And Dated In Pencil In The Lower Right And Lower Left Margin. On The Reverse, Annotated In Japanese In Ball Point Pen. Mounted And Framed. changed hands for EUR 3,750.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by Shōji Ueda have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2011 by the work Self-Portrait With Cat ('Me And Cat') at USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,747.18).
