Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs From The Estate of Thomas T. Solley, which included the work Rebecca Gardenia, 1984; and Neith Hunter, Column, 1987 by Sheila Metzner. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,560.00 (€ 3,446.71) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sheila Metzner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Iceberg, 1997, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,086.31).
