Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work John, 1981 by Sheila Metzner for USD 750.00 (€ 643.94). This price was achieved in the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sheila Metzner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Iceberg, 1997 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,086.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit John, 1981 von Sheila Metzner für USD 750,00 (€ 643,94) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sheila Metzner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Iceberg, 1997 im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.086,31).
