This artwork by Shang Yanliu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 50,000.00 (€ 4,958.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 22,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shang Yanliu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Running Script, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 12,000.00 (€ 12,254.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shang Yanliu erzielte im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 50.000,00 (€ 4.958,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 22.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shang Yanliu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 12.000,00 (€ 12.254,35) versteigert wurde.
