This artwork by Shang Yanliu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script sold for HKD 35,000.00 (€ 3,318.39) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shang Yanliu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Running Script, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 12,000.00 (€ 12,254.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shang Yanliu erzielte im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script für HKD 35.000,00 (€ 3.318,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shang Yanliu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 12.000,00 (€ 12.254,35) versteigert wurde.
