Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Sin Título by Sergio Hernández. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,897.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sergio Hernández have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Apocalipsis in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,529.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sin Título von Sergio Hernández zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.897,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sergio Hernández auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Apocalipsis im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 50.529,55).
