Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Personajes by Sergio Hernández. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,110.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sergio Hernández have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Apocalipsis in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,529.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Personajes von Sergio Hernández zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.110,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sergio Hernández auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Apocalipsis im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 50.529,55).
