Auction result well in line with expectations
The work El gallo by Sergio Hernández was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,016.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sergio Hernández achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Apocalipsis in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,529.55).

Die Arbeit El gallo von Sergio Hernández kam im Mai 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.016,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sergio Hernández erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Apocalipsis im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 50.529,55).
