Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venus In The Forge Of Vulcan by Sebastiano Ricci was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 324,500.00 (€ 284,374.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sebastiano Ricci have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Time revealing Truth in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,448,000.00 (€ 1,792,093.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Venus In The Forge Of Vulcan von Sebastiano Ricci kam im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 324.500,00 (€ 284.374,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sebastiano Ricci auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Time revealing Truth im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.448.000,00 (€ 1.792.093,70).
