Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Sebastiano Ricci could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Allegory of Charity changed hands for GBP 110,000.00 (€ 131,359.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sebastiano Ricci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Time revealing Truth in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,448,000.00 (€ 1,792,093.70).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sebastiano Ricci konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Allegory of Charity für GBP 110.000,00 (€ 131.359,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sebastiano Ricci erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Time revealing Truth im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.448.000,00 (€ 1.792.093,70).
