Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A bacchanal by Sebastiano Ricci was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 63,000.00 (€ 56,189.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sebastiano Ricci achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Time revealing Truth in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,448,000.00 (€ 1,792,093.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A bacchanal von Sebastiano Ricci im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 63.000,00 (€ 56.189,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sebastiano Ricci erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Time revealing Truth im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.448.000,00 (€ 1.792.093,70).
