This artwork by Seán Keating achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Irish Art auction, the work Dublin Docks sold for GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,657.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Seán Keating achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Feast of Bridget in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 139,650.00 (€ 194,567.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Seán Keating erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Dublin Docks für GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.657,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Seán Keating erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Feast of Bridget im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 139.650,00 (€ 194.567,61).
