The work Self Portrait In A Bear Skin by Seán Keating was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in September 2016. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 112,500.00 (€ 130,288.97), 61% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Seán Keating; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Feast of Bridget sold at auction in May 2003 with the realized price of GBP 139,650.00 (€ 194,567.61).
