Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Newly Married Man | L'homme nouvellement marié by Seán Keating was sold in the Ireland / France: Art & Literature auction at Sothebys in Paris in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 44,100.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Seán Keating have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Feast of Bridget in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 139,650.00 (€ 194,567.61).

Die Arbeit The Newly Married Man | L'homme nouvellement marié von Seán Keating wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Ireland / France: Art & Literature bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 44.100,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Seán Keating auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Feast of Bridget im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 139.650,00 (€ 194.567,61).
