This price was achieved in the auction Creating a Stage: The Collection of Marsha and Robin Williams at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Scottie Wilson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Overlapping Heads sold at auction in July 2012 with the realized price of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,960.82).
