Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park by Satoshi Watanabe was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 427,500.00 (€ 35,194.57), 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Satoshi Watanabe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Museum Series - Le Museé du Louvre, which sold at auction in November 2007 for HKD 1,447,500.00 (€ 126,537.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park von Satoshi Watanabe wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 427.500,00 (€ 35.194,57) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Satoshi Watanabe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Museum Series - Le Museé du Louvre beobachtet, die im November 2007 für HKD 1.447.500,00 (€ 126.537,99) versteigert wurde.
