In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Garden Pier by Satoshi Watanabe. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 75,000.00 (€ 6,174.49), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Satoshi Watanabe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Museum Series - Le Museé du Louvre in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 1,447,500.00 (€ 126,537.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Garden Pier von Satoshi Watanabe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 6.174,49) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Satoshi Watanabe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Museum Series - Le Museé du Louvre im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.447.500,00 (€ 126.537,99).
