This artwork by Satish Gujral achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 28,334.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Satish Gujral - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Despair, which sold at auction in September 2016 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,229.76).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Satish Gujral erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 27.720,00 (€ 28.334,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Satish Gujral mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Despair beobachtet, die im September 2016 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.229,76) versteigert wurde.
