Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Satish Gujral achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 50,400.00 (€ 42,919.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Satish Gujral - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Despair, which sold at auction in September 2016 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,229.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Satish Gujral erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 50.400,00 (€ 42.919,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Satish Gujral mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Despair beobachtet, die im September 2016 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.229,76) versteigert wurde.
