This artwork by Satish Gujral achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Durga sold for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,709.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Satish Gujral have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Despair in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,229.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Satish Gujral erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit Durga für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.709,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Satish Gujral auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Despair im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.229,76).
