Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Young Girl At The Seashore by Samuel S. Carr was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,576.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel S. Carr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beach at Coney Island, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,780.19).
