Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Beach Scene With Acrobats by Samuel S. Carr. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 21,197.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Samuel S. Carr have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2011 the work Beach at Coney Island was auctioned for USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,780.19).
