In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Children on the Beach by Samuel S. Carr. The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,000.00 (€ 30,745.58), 33% above the upper estimate. Other works by Samuel S. Carr have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,780.19) in May 2011 for the work Beach at Coney Island.
